Autonomic Response Testing
Autonomic Response Testing (ART) is done through testing your body's own
neurological reflex points. The neurological reflexes are derived from the autonomic part
of the nervous system whose job is to regulate the functions of each and every organ. Autonomic
refers to the automatic functions of the body such as heart beating, breathing, digestion, etc.
ART is a study of how
the different points on the surface of your body relate to the state of health
and to the flow of energy in each and every organ and function of your
body.
Each ART reflex represents a specific
organ, tissue or function and indicates the effect that energy or lack of
energy, is having on your body. By testing the ART reflexes, we have a system
of monitoring your body at each visit that helps us identify exactly what your
body needs and how well we are meeting that
need.
How do we access the autonomic nervous
system? We use Applied Kinesiology, commonly known as muscle testing. The
technique is painless, powerful and personalized. It involves using the
practitioner's hand, lightly pressing on different acupuncture points or reflex
locations while simultaneously checking a strong muscle group.
To understand this, it is imperative to
realize that the body is very electrical. Your nervous system transmits
electrical impulses throughout the body. Your brain, as part of the nervous
system, sends and receives these electrical impulses. Specifically, there are 8
nerves from your spinal column that come together at the front of your lower
chest area, which is called the Celiac Ganglion or plexus. This area contains a
very dense concentration of nerve fibers, which has a constant flow of
electrical nerve impulses to and from your brain. From this ganglion, nerves
disperse to your abdominal organs and tissues. This area is very sensitive to
the electron energy being emitted by every substance all around you.
